INNAT "HAND-DYED FISHING DOWN VEST"
INNAT "HAND-DYED FISHING DOWN VEST"
An authentic 50's fishing vest updated with a down vest design. The mountain-shaped front and back pockets are separate, making it a functional design that allows you to store items by type. Last season, we were able to dye small items such as down stoles, so this season we tried dyeing a down vest. As with last season, we used hand-dyed Bengala dyeing. Each piece is hand-dyed by artisans using Bengala dyeing, which uses a pigment made from oxidized iron in the soil, which is used as a by-product of copper mines in Takahashi City, Okayama Prefecture. The outer material is a cotton-nylon blend, so the difference in the dyeing of the cotton and nylon gives it a deep color and texture that retains an uneven feel. Enjoy the unevenness and depth that can only be achieved with hand-dyed items.
